I'm in Kathmandu Nepal (EVEREST)
Flew out of San Francisco Monday 11:55 PM to China and connected onto a flight to Nepal. Arrive about 24 hours later. It's 3:37 AM your time and 4:22PM a day later. Anyway a pretty crazy city. This city is the gateway to the Himalayas.

One day before I leave (EVEREST)
Just ran a 1/2 Marathon with my oldest daughter Christina. She did great. We did a breakfast buffet with the entire immediate family @ First Street Alehouse (my favorite restaurant.) Great sending off get together. You'll also notice that Brittany, my second oldest, had "climbing to the top of the world" shirts made for everyone. After months of training I'm done. I fly out to Kathmandu late tomorrow. I have one stop in China and should arrive in Kathmandu Wednesday morning.
One Week Left! (EVEREST)
So I leave one week from today. Getting excited! Several last minute things I'm trying to take care of, but all good. Last weeks training was the last of the difficult stuff. I need to taper down the training this week. I was hoping to get to the 90lb pack this week but decided against it. Sunday was the 80lb day and I'm a little sore from that. Saturday I ended up doing a 2 hour run (approx. 13 miles) This week: Monday - Lifting; Chest, Abs, Biceps, Lats Tuesday - Hill run
Updated Website GPS Live Feed! (EVEREST)
Please note that the "GPS Live Feed" link has been added to the website. This link will take you to a map that will show my movement up and down the mountain. What is on there now is the hike I did on the Pleasanton Ridge, after work last night, with my 70lb pack. I wanted to test out the GPS device to be sure everything is working well. It's working perfectly.
This Weeks Training (EVEREST Training)
Monday - Lifting: Biceps, Chest and Abs Tuesday - My weekly hill run. This is training I don't look forward to each week. I have a hill, on Foothill Road Pleasanton, that I have to get from bottom to top in 90 seconds. I do this eight times. I kicks my butt! Wednesday - More lifting: Tri's Shoulders, Abs Thursday - 70 lb backpack day. I needed to squeeze this in during he week so I can do 80 on Sunday and 90 next week. Friday - Rest day (Happy St. Patrick's Day) Saturday - wi
Long Run Sunday (EVEREST Training)
I have ramped up my long runs from 30 minutes 16 weeks ago to 3 hours and 20 minutes Sunday March 5th. That run was approximately 22 miles. That long of a run takes a toll. My hips, right calf, and left knee all were aching. yesterday I took it down several notches and only ran 10 miles. A pretty relaxing run with my daughter Christina. We are going to run the Livermore 1/2 marathon March 26th, the day before I leave for my trip. Should be a great day.

60lb Backpack Training Day (EVEREST Training)
For the last 6 weeks I have been doing backpack training on the Pleasanton Ridge. I started out with 20lbs and have worked in an additional 10lbs each week. Saturday the 11th was my 60lb day. Also working my feet into my 8000 Meter Boots. These are La Sportiva Evo Mons. Beautiful day on the ridge!
17 days and counting. (EVEREST Training)
This is my first post. I'm excited to say that I have eight corporate sponsors and three individual donors, so far. I am very grateful for everyone's generosity. We have their names posted below on the site. I have been training very hard for the last 4 months. Those of you who know me know that I have been very serious about my preparation for this incredible opportunity that I have to touch the top of the word! I will go into more detail about how I have been preparing and
